Virginia Program to Give More Children Access to Mental Health Care

A new statewide initiative in Virginia is filling gaps in pediatric mental health care access! With a shortage of child psychiatrists across the state, the Virginia Mental health Access Program (VMAP) is providing mental health training to primary care physicians and allowing them to consult with child psychiatrists on the phone. This is a huge step in ensuring that Virginia’s children receive the mental health care they need.
